The Glory of God, "What is it really?"

The Bible is replete of the glorious parts that are the whole of God's habitation, creation and dwelling place.

Many times, we are given a picture of Heaven with it's gold, angels, elders, thrones....unspeakable things.

This occurred to me today as I was preparing to speak to a Mens breakfast at Parkway in Madison for Pastor Jerry Dillon.

"The Glory of Man is the Wife." I looked it up on my Iphone Bible and did a little search.

Wait a minute. The Glory of Man... the things that he will often Glory in are things like,

A New Gun, Antique Car, Degree, Experience, Medals, Wisdom, Fame and Wealth.

Things they acquired through striving.

However, the scripture calls it like it is, and it says it very simply, "The Glory of Man is the Woman."

I then thought about this, "The most glorious thing "TO GOD" is a man who is has made himself a partaker in the redemption plan of God.

"There is joy in heaven when one sinner comes to repentance."
"What is man... thou hast crowned him with Glory and Honor."

To get the Glory... there are Gory Details.

The Striving to Purchase Humanity... the Price of Redemption... The Product of His
Reaching, Calling, Drawing, Protecting, Providing, Healing, Relating, Revealing...

There is a false perception of God that he just ordains some to hell and some to heaven. This is not only Theologically in error... well, I will just leave it at that.

The Glory of God, in it's truest since is not found in his Golden Throne or his Angelic Host or Eternal Habitation...

When a finite and temporal individual recognizes God for who he is and returns to give him praise and specifically to honor God in his life by Grace through faith.

Just as a further illustration. Where did the Glory of God rest in the Old Testament Tabernacle? On the Mercy Seat.

This Picture of the Redemption of Mankind, I submit to you, this is the truest sense of the Glory of God.

Redemption is a direct product of his choosing and making that requires another persons will to be involved.

Connect that to a Marriage. The Glory of Man is the Wife. When you grow old and your body is weak and life and time has give you it's best... that person who has walked with you through it all, and yet still sits holding your hand, now you understand, "The Glory of Man is the Wife."

This is a relationship that had to be nurtured, persevered in and yet... in the last moments... till the end... the crown on his head is a loving wife and a godly heritage that will testify of him.

When we stand before God, no one individual will be able to give a better account than your family and specifically your wife.

.... Now let us return....

Eternity has begun... and the Bridegroom has brought his bride into his home... it is the end and the beginning of sorts...

When we consider the end of all our mortality... our corruptible experience with it's troubles and trials.. it will be the end of sorrow and suffering... and we will in this moment of transition...

Those thirty minutes of silence... at the conclusion... Time stops... and time and eternity meet in the middle... time is no more...

The Bride and Groom,

Jesus and His Bride...

Will each be the Glory of the Other.

Man.. What a day that will be.

The Glory of God will be displayed in all of it's true beauty in that innumerable company that will be the Church.

Just some wandering thoughts on this Saturday morning.
